The Clinton Portis Foundation Since entering the NFL in 2002 out of the University of Miami, Clinton Portis has vowed to use his status as a professional athlete to help give back to his community. This commitment began in Denver, Colorado, where Clinton started his community involvement while a rookie with the Denver Broncos. Now with the Washington Redskins, Portis has had the opportunity to appear at a variety of charitable events in the Washington D.C. area, including hosting a 2009 charity fashion show for Becky’s Fund, a non-profit organization dedicated to domestic violence awareness and prevention. In addition, Clinton has also been an active member at many Santana Moss Foundation events and has been a key-note speaker at motivational events across the nation. In fall 2009, Clinton plans to launch The Clinton Portis Foundation to benefit at-risk youth and children with behavioral issues. He is planning to launch the foundation at an upcoming event. |
